President’s Corner
April 2016

Hello Shipmates!

Your committee has finished putting the Final touches on this year's reunion in Dayton, Ohio and the Registration form went out in the January newsletter to everyone in our database (2,800+).  It has also been put on our website at www.ussboston.org so that our shipmates, that may be inclined to do so, are able to register online.

We have a good number of Shipmates already signed up and we expect a good turnout for this reunion. Dayton is the home of the "Wright Brothers" and there is a lot to see there with the Air Force Museum, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Carillon Park and a number of other historic attractions. On Sunday we will even take buses to Cincinnati and take a lunch cruise on the Ohio River and have our Memorial Service to cap off our reunion.

To All Shipmates: Every so often (usually every year) we ask for assistance on our committee and this year will be no exception.  The membership of your Reunion Committee is getting smaller each year for a variety of reasons, mostly because "we ain't gettin any younger". We need your help to continue to plan the quality reunions that you deserve and are accustomed to each year. Most of the current committee members have been working on this committee for over 15+ years and we need some help and new ideas. I ask that you contact me at president@ussboston.org and let me know if you have an interest in becoming a committee member. We could use your help with most of the jobs on the committee like: Tours, Welcome Aboard, Meals, Hotel, etc...     YES this is me on my knees again, begging!

In the coming months you may see a survey or two on our Website or maybe in your email! There will be a number of questions we will be asking you as to how we can make YOUR reunions better and more enjoyable for you and your family. It will also be a tool that we can use to find out who may have an interest in joining our committee. Be advised that this committee is all voluntary, this is not a paid committee. Also, for any of the surveys to work for you and for us you will obviously need to respond to them.

Hope to see you all at the Reunion. If you have never attended a reunion please make an effort to come to this one, I don't think that you will be disappointed.
