The SSN703 Deploys on UNITAS

In July of 1998 the USS BOSTON SSN703 cast off on a UNITAS deployment. This was a major departure from your run-of-the-mill 688-class deployments where only a select handful of people know the boat's location. None of this "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you" stuff. Here's where they went, and when:

10-12 July Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico
16-18 July Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico
22-26 July Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela
2-4 August Fortaleza, Brazil
13-17 August Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
22-25 August Punta Del Este, Uraguay
14-15 September Talcahuano, Chile
17-21 September Valparaiso, Chile
23-24 September Puerto Aldea, Chile
26-27 September Coquimbo, Chile
30 September Ilo, Peru
5-10 October Callao, Peru
17-19 October Salinas, Equador
20-21 October Manta, Equador
23-25 October Manta, Equador
1-3 November Rodman, Panama
8-11 November Cartagena, Columbia

On November 16, 1998 the BOSTON returned home. Here are some scenes from homecoming day.
